There is something beautiful about sharing.
We often think of sharing as offering something tangible—a favourite recipe, a photograph, a book we enjoyed, or a cup of tea poured for a friend.
But some of the most meaningful things we share cannot be wrapped, measured, or placed on a shelf.
We share our stories.
We share our experiences.
We share our encouragement.
We share our time.
And often, we do not realize the impact these gifts have on the people who receive them.
A few kind words. A thoughtful gesture. A sincere compliment. A listening ear. These simple acts may seem small in the moment, yet they have the power to brighten someone’s day, restore confidence, or remind another person that they are seen and valued.
Perhaps that is why connection is one of life’s greatest gifts.
It is through sharing that connection begins.
When we share a story, we invite someone into our world. We offer a glimpse of our experiences, our hopes, our lessons, and even our struggles. In doing so, we often discover that we are not as different from one another as we once believed.
A story shared becomes a bridge.
A conversation shared becomes a friendship.
A moment shared becomes a memory.
Community is built one connection at a time.
Perhaps that is why the smallest acts of sharing often become the most memorable. A handwritten note. A phone call. A favourite recipe passed from one generation to the next. A neighbour stopping by for a visit. These simple moments remind us that life is not meant to be lived in isolation. We are created for connection, and sharing is one of the ways we nurture and strengthen those bonds.
In a world that often feels rushed and distracted, these moments of connection matter more than ever. They remind us that we belong to one another and that even the smallest gesture can leave a lasting impression.
I have often thought that hospitality is really another form of sharing.
Anyone who knows me knows that hospitality is my love language.
There is something I have always loved about welcoming people, setting a beautiful table, pouring tea, preparing a meal, or creating an environment where others feel comfortable and cared for.
When we open our homes, we are not simply sharing a space.
We are sharing ourselves.
We are sharing our attention, our care, our creativity, and our desire to make others feel welcome.
Whether it is a cup of tea shared with a friend, a conversation around a dining table, or helping a woman feel beautiful and confident, hospitality is ultimately about connection.
And connection begins when we choose to share.
Recently, I was reminded of this in a very unexpected way.
A customer who attended an important conference took the time to send me a thoughtful note afterward. She shared how confident she felt, how many compliments she had received, and how wonderful the experience had been.
Her message was simple, sincere, and kind.
Yet it reminded me of something important.
We rarely know what another person may be carrying.
A few encouraging words may arrive at exactly the right moment.
A compliment may linger in someone’s heart far longer than we imagine.
A note of gratitude may become the bright spot in an otherwise difficult week.
What she shared with me was not simply feedback.
She shared encouragement.
And that encouragement became a gift.
It made me reflect on how often we underestimate the value of our own words and actions.
We assume people know they are appreciated.
We assume they know they have made a difference.
We assume there will be another opportunity to tell them.
But perhaps sharing those thoughts is exactly what matters.
This month, as we embrace the word Share, I hope we will all look for opportunities to do so a little more freely.
Share a story.
Share a smile.
Share a memory.
Share encouragement.
Share your talents.
Share your creativity.
Share your voice.
Let others see what you have created.
Let others hear what is on your heart.
You never know when something you share may become exactly what another person needs to receive.
And perhaps that is the beauty of sharing.
What begins as a simple gesture often becomes something much greater.
A connection.
A friendship.
A sense of belonging.
A community.
Because when we share, we create connection.
And where there is connection, community begins.☕💛
With gratitude,
Linda, xo
